FUMI KANEKO

Fumi Kaneko, a Japanese dancer, rose to Principal of The Royal Ballet after joining in the 2010/11 Season. She trained at the Jinushi Kaoru Ballet School in Osaka and garnered recognition with a gold medal at the Varna International Ballet Competition in 2008. Her repertoire with The Royal Ballet spans iconic roles like Odette/Odile, Juliet, and Kitri, showcasing her versatility. She's won silver medals at prestigious international competitions and has performed in a wide range of ballets, including classics like "The Nutcracker" and "Swan Lake", as well as contemporary works like "Woolf Works" and "The Dante Project". Kaneko's talent and dedication have earned her rapid promotions within the company, culminating in her appointment as Principal in 2021.
