Story

adim Muntagirov, a Russian dancer, holds the position of Principal at The Royal Ballet. Trained at The Royal Ballet Upper School, he joined the company from the English National Ballet as a Principal in March 2014. His repertoire includes a diverse range of roles such as Basilio in "Don Quixote", Albrecht in "Giselle", and Prince Siegfried in "Swan Lake". Born in Chelyabinsk, Muntagirov comes from a family of dancers and received training at the Perm Ballet School before moving to The Royal Ballet Upper School. Notable awards include Outstanding Male Performance (Classical) and Benois de la Danse honors. He's also danced as a guest artist with prestigious companies like the Paris Opera Ballet and American Ballet Theatre, showcasing his talent in roles like Solor in "La Bayadère" and Armand in "Marguerite and Armand". His autobiography, "From Small Steps to Big Leaps," was published in June 2023.
