Born in Rio de Janeiro, Gustavo started his studies of classical ballet at the Brazilian Conservatory of Dance in his hometown in Brazil. In 2014 he was invited by the ballet legend Julio Bocca to dance as a Guest Principal the roles of “Basilio / Don Quijote” and “Solor / La Bayadere” with the National Ballet of Uruguay in Montevideo. In the end of that same year he joined the company as a Soloist and got promoted to Principal Dancer in 2015. Gustavo was only 21 years old when he was nominated to the Benois de la Danse in 2017, for the role of “Don José” in Marcia Haydée’s “Carmen”. In 2020 he got invited by the newly appointed artistic director Demis Volpi to join the ‘Ballett am Rhein’. His repertoire is very broad and includes all the big classical and neo classical ballets going from ‘Le Corsaire’, ‘Onegin’, ‘Manon’, up to `The merry widow´ and also new creations making him a very versatile dancer.
