Story

Brendan Saye, born in Vancouver, trained at Canada’s National Ballet School before joining The National Ballet of Canada in 2008. Rising to Principal Dancer in 2019, his repertoire spans iconic roles like Albrecht in "Giselle", Siegfried in "Swan Lake", and Prince Florimund in "Sleeping Beauty". He's showcased versatility in works by Balanchine, Wheeldon, Neumeier, and others. Representing the National Ballet of Canada, he won awards at The Erik Bruhn Prize and received honors during his schooling. In the 2022/23 season, he joined the Vienna State Ballet as first soloist, debuting in roles like Prince Désiré in Schläpfer's "The Sleeping Beauty" and Onegin in Cranko's ballet. He's also performed in works by Nureyev, Balanchine, van Manen, Schläpfer, and Spoerli at the Vienna State Opera.
